Chamonix is consistently voted one of the top 10 ski resorts in the world and we're sure that is because it delivers so much more than just great skiing. French resorts in general are not renowned for their après ski but Chamonix is a rare gem in this respect. Like its Restaurants it offers a great diversity of socializing establishments. The No.1 apres ski bar is the Chambre Neuf in the middle of town, if this rocking establishment is not your cup of tea then go for great cocktails at the Clubhouse (part of Milk & Honey of London and New York fame). No Escape provides a fashionable bolt hole with a very chic city feel to it. Bands are in evidence in many bars from 4pm through to 2am and there are even comedy nights in bars such as The Jekyll who fly over some of the UK’s top comedians. If this all too much then you still have the numerous cafes that can give you a more cultural après ski environment or head back to the chalet for freshly baked cakes, canapés and some pre-dinner champagne.
