About Chamonix is thriving in its new position as a luxury winter destination where boutique shops such as Chanel and Ogier add depth to the shopping experience. There are a large array of ski and mountain wear shops such as Helly Hanson, Ogier Sports and North Face; if you’re looking to buy specialist gear this is the town to do it at as advice comes from people that live and breathe the mountains. No alpine town would be complete without its local specialty outlets (Savoyard fayre) and in town you will find some fabulous patisseries, bounlangeries, fromageries and last but far from least some quite amazing chocolate shops. You can easily spend a whole day looking around the shops if for some bizarre reason the mountains haven’t called out to you!
