Driving Directions from Geneva – Cointrin Airport to Chalet Lumiere

There is only one way to leave the airport from the Swiss side. Follow signs for France (in green) and keep following them the whole way.

Special Note: You will pay two tolls on the way to Chamonix totaling nearly 6 Euros. Foreign currencies are not accepted as payment.

• Go through 4 sets of traffic lights. At the 5th set of lights, turn left

• Immediately get into the right hand lane and take a quick right turn at the signed marked France (this is the A40 motorway but is not marked as such).

• You will take this all the way in to the Chamonix Valley, so keep following the signs for France and then the signs for the Chamonix/Mont Blanc tunnel. After approx. 55 miles on the highway you will cross a large, very long bridge before passing through 2 tunnels. You are now entering the Chamonix Valley.

• Continue along this dual carriageway; go straight across the next roundabout (2nd exit goes to the Mont Blanc tunnel and Italy) following signs for Chamonix centre-ville.

• Continue straight across the next two roundabouts

• You will cross over a rail way line (with barriers) 200m after the last roundabout. After another 200m you will come to another roundabout, take the first exit right.

• Continue along this road for about 3 kilometers until you come to a funny shaped roundabout with a church on the left hand side. Take the first exit right.

• You will see immediately on your left the Hotel Eden, cross over the railway line and immediately take the first left

• Follow this road for about 200 meters passing a lake on your right, the road turns to the right at the end of the lake which you need to stay on.

• Drive for about 120 meters and look for a very small turn on your left, there is 1.5 meter high rock on the left indicating the turn. Turn left here.

• Go to the end and Chalet Lumiere is on your right.
